Dear God, About 2026...Letter to God for 2026

As this year comes to a close, I want to invite you to slow down and do something sacred, write a letter to God for 2026. I love journaling, creating vision boards (I hang mine at the back door so I see it every time I leave and when I come home). I love doing these things to close out the year, and prepare for the next. This year I will be writing a letter to God. I will pour everything into my letter, not just asking Him for "things", but expressing how grateful I am for what He has done this year.

This isn’t about resolutions, checklists, or lofty to-do lists. It’s about alignment. It’s a moment to pause, breathe, and reflect on what 2025 has meant to you...the growth, the stretching, the healing, the laughter, and even the moments that tested your strength but revealed your resilience.

Writing a letter to God is a way of acknowledging that you’re not doing life alone. It’s a way of saying, “God, I trust You with what’s next.” It’s declaring that you’re ready to dream again, but this time with intention, this time with faith at the center.

If you’ve never done this before, don’t overthink it. Just grab a journal, a notepad, or even open the Notes app on your phone, and let your heart speak. You’re not writing a perfect letter, you’re writing an honest one.

Before You Write...

Take a moment to reflect:

  • What did 2025 teach you about yourself?

  • What moments reminded you of God’s faithfulness?

  • What are you ready to release?

  • What are you ready to receive?

Then, think about what you want 2026 to look and feel like...not just in achievements, but in peace, purpose, and presence.

Tips for Writing Your Letter to God for 2026

  1. Start with gratitude. Thank God for all He’s done, the seen and unseen blessings.

  2. Reflect on 2025. Acknowledge your growth, even if it came with challenges.

  3. Release what’s heavy. Be honest about what you’re ready to let go of.

  4. Dream boldly. God isn’t intimidated by your dreams, He’s the one who placed them in your heart.

  5. Ask specifically. Be clear about what you’re believing God for in 2026.

  6. Surrender with trust. End your letter with peace, knowing that your story is already written with divine precision.

  2. Everything meant for me is already making its way to me.

  3. I am ready to receive the blessings I’ve prayed for.

  4. I release fear and walk boldly in faith, knowing that God’s timing is perfect.

  5. I am EXPECTING great things.

🙏🏽 Closing Prayer

Heavenly Father, As we prepare to step into a new year, thank You for the journey that brought us here. Thank You for the lessons that strengthened us and the blessings that sustained us. Lord, help us to move forward with gratitude, grace, and grounded faith. May we not rush into 2026 with fear or pressure, but with peace, trusting that what You’ve prepared for us is greater than what we could ever imagine (Ephesians 3: 20-21). Bless the work of our hands, the dreams in our hearts, and the people we hold close. Let 2026 be a year of renewal, restoration, and revelation. And when people see us, let them see You shining through...Your love, Your light, and Your goodness.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
